Volunteer Opportunities 

ASID is an organization of volunteers. We are always looking for members who would like to be involved in all aspects of our chapter events—from planning to implementation. You can see a listing of upcoming events on the calendar. We thank you for your help in the past and invite all of our members to take part in future events.

Volunteer Professional Development (Events) Committee Member Role Description

Reports to:
Professional Development Director Piat Orendain

Hours:
Approx 3-5 hours per month. Varies, to be agreed with Pro Dev Director
Meetings will be held third Wednesdays from 11am-12:3opm; other times to be agreed

Length of Role:
3 months, with possibility to continue for another term or terms

Location:
Work could be performed remotely or from office
Meetings held at office located at 2 Henry Adams St, Suite 301, San Francisco or at nearby locations to be agreed

Equipment Required:
Mac or PC computer with Basecamp online software (provided for you free)
Reliable internet access
Cell phone or landline phone

Skills:
Event attendance experience
Basic math: Adding, subtracting, percentages
Ability to make phone calls, send emails
Knowledge of working with volunteers/in teams

Personality Traits:
Problem solving
Ability to create and maintain relationships with people of varied backgrounds and ages
Work independently and in a small team
Self-starter/shows initiative
Good judgment, defers to guidance from Director when necessary

Work Required:
Attend meetings
Complete assigned action points
Liaise with outside contacts
Attend events and provide support
Update online project tracking software (Basecamp)

Volunteer Web Chairperson Role Description

Reports to:
Communications Director Heidi Gerpheide

Hours:
Approx 3-5 hours per week. Varies, to be agreed with Communications Director
Meetings will be held during office hours of 10am to 4pm Mon-Thurs

Length of Role:
3 months, with possibility to continue for another term or terms

Location:
Work could be performed remotely or from office
Meetings held at office located at 2 Henry Adams St, Suite 301, San Francisco or at nearby locations to be agreed

Equipment Required:
Mac or PC computer with Microsoft Office or other word processing software
Reliable internet access
Cell phone or landline phone
Optional design software a plus (InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc)

Skills:
Graphic Design
WordPress/other publishing platforms
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
HTML or other coding
Knowledge of webhosting/domains etc.

Personality Traits:
Problem solving
Ability to create and maintain relationships with vendors
Work independently and in a small team
Self-starter/shows initiative
Good judgment, defers to guidance from Director when necessary

Work Required:
Update current website www.asidcalnorth.com with needed changes
Advise on video hosting/other potential website functionality
Increase SEO rankings
